what it means to be a journalist...

I was talking to a friend of mine at school today who wanted to take a undergrad degree in journalism, but she didn’t seem to be so sure...so later in the day i stumbled onto this...how appropriate. Downloaded it, and going to show it to her tomorrow, think it sums it up pretty well...

Okay it’s a bit extreme, but this is what I consider good journalism! To sum it up, Andrew Mwenda…
Maybe its because I’m young and that radical shit appeals to me…I dunno what do you think?
Any journalists here in blogsville got a word or two for my friend?
P.S. she’ll be joining blogspot real soon, watch this space

Well you asked for any journalists...i'm not one yet (still workin my way up the ladder) but i think this guy is great. Great to learn from but i dont think i'd want to be 'inspired' by him.

This guy is just too bitter for my liking. He's a great journalist but i think he is pushing his own agendas there in.

oh, and by desktop journalist i mean those who sit at the desk and write the story,no need going to the 'front line' and all the best in those exams. got some abt the same time so i can relate

Every journalist has that yearning to be on the frontline but you must have that stepping stone. Mwenda's good i'll admit but he is so full o' himself. He Inspires me but he shouts. If you Angello Izama then you know what am talking about.

Gave you an Honest Scrap award. This is probably yo 20th...

@ Payo, i get what you mean but no journalist can be totally unbiased, especially if you feel so strongly about something...

@Sleek - yeah, gotta start somewhere...though she had this idea of documenting social issues she feels strongly about then selling them, like exposes or documentary kinda things...too ambitious?

@ McKeith- hey stranger! seen u on my follower list but dont believe you've ever commented on my posts!
will check izama out right now, and thanks, its more like my 2nd or 3rd one, not 20th!! i aint that popular!
